Canada Vancouver Mission Conference
Elder O. Vincent Haleck (of the Seventy) and Sister Haleck visited our mission on October 18-20th. They trained all missionaries while here. Elder and Sister Haleck, and President and Sister Tilleman gave tremendous messages that inspired all of us. President Tilleman reminded us that when Elder Haleck was a mission president in Tonga, they had a goal to achieve 1800 baptisms in one year. When it looked like they would achieve that goal, he invited them to make it to 1820 baptisms, to commemorate a very important year in the church, Joseph Smith's first vision. The missionaries achieved their goal.
Elder Haleck also invited us to prepare for many, many more missionaries in the months to come, as a result of President Monson's announcement in General Conference. Young men can now serve at age eighteen, and young women can serve at age nineteen.
Elder and Sister Haleck met with all the senior missionaries following the training sessions. Elder Haleck asked where each was from and where we serve within the mission.. He extended a special "thank you" to us from the first presidency, for serving as missionaries.

Canada Vancouver Mission Sister's Conference
A Sister 's conference was held September 28, 2012 , for all the sisters in the mission. President and Sister Tilleman shared great messages and taught from the scriptures. All bore strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and their own experiences with missionary work. Sister Jones helped plan and organize the conference, which included housing , and transportation to and from the conference.
Love, love, love these sisters.

Jin Hua Fu, baptized Oct. 12, 2012
Sister Jones had the wonderful opportunity to be a companion with Sister Liu as Jin Fu prepared for baptism. Jin Fu speaks Chinese but she understands English, so Sister Jones participated in the discussions prior to her baptism.
Sister Liu is an amazing missionary from Taiwan. Her twin sister is serving a mission in Taiwan.

Mary Tilleman's bridal shower July 2012
Mary is displaying gift from Sister Jones, a fleece blanket with crocheted edge. Sister Jones learned this great technique from amazing Sister-in-law, Joyce Tuttle, prior to mission. Sister Jones now makes fleece blankets (displaying the famous maple leaf-reminder of Canada and wonderful memories ) for special friends and missionaries.
Elder Jones - at home in his tidy office
The white board in background displays pictures of all the missionaries and the cars they drive. 94% of our missionaries travel by automobile. Needless to say, Elder Jones is a busy man.
